Pub Manager (or Management Couple)
Top Pub’ Pambula, NSW South Coast

Live the coastal pub life at a true local icon.

We’re seeking an experienced hospitality professional or a capable two-person team to lead the Commercial Hotel Pambula – affectionately known as ‘The Top Pub’ – a historic country pub established in 1878 and a much-loved hub for locals and visitors alike. If you thrive in friendly coastal communities and love creating a welcoming pub atmosphere, this is a rare opportunity.

What’s on offer
  • Salary by negotiation, depending on experience and scope of role
  • Performance-based bonus structure.
  • Free on-site accommodation with utilities included.
  • All meals provided – you’ll be well looked after.
  • The chance to put your stamp on a historic, established business with strong community ties.
About the pub
The Top Pub is open 7 days a week and is home to Bistro 1878, a bright and spacious bistro offering quality food in a relaxed setting. The venue is a true community local, with regular raffles, members’ draws and a loyal membership base.

About you
You’re a hands-on operator with solid experience in pub or venue management,
confident running day-to-day operations and leading a small team. You’ll be customer- focused, community-minded and comfortable being the face of the venue in a close-knit town. The role would suit:
  • A single experienced manager ready to take full ownership of the operation, or
  • A capable couple/two-person team who can share responsibilities across bar, bistro, kitchen coordination, functions and admin.
Key responsibilities
  • Oversee all daily operations of the bar, bistro and gaming (where applicable).
  • Lead, roster and support staff to deliver consistent, welcoming service.
  • Drive revenue through food, beverage, events, raffles and members promotions.
  • Maintain venue presentation, compliance and safety standards.
  • Build strong relationships with locals, members and visitors.
Key attributes
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to lift service standards and profitability.
  • A collaborative, team-first approach and calm under pressure.
  • Current NSW RSA and RCG certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Why this role?
This is more than a job – it’s a lifestyle in a historic South Coast town with a rich story and strong sense of community. You’ll finish a busy service, step out into the coastal air, and know you’re playing a central role in “everybody’s local.”
