West Pennant Hills Sports Club is a vibrant, community-focused venue offering sport, recreation and social spaces for members and guests. We support grassroots sport and local community groups, providing quality facilities and a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Duty Manager to lead day-to-day operations across allocated shifts (Friday to Tuesday). You will be the key link between management and frontline teams, overseeing the café and bar and ensuring an exceptional experience for every member and guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the floor, promoting the Club’s values and ensuring high standards of service, presentation, grooming and cleanliness at all times.
- Act as the senior manager on duty, handling member and guest queries, feedback and complaints with professionalism, empathy and sound judgment.
- Oversee daily operations across the Club, including café service, bar, gaming and reception, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, WHS, RSA and RCG requirements.
- Manage café operations including stock control, ordering, inventory management and food safety compliance.
- Coach, support, and motivate staff, including delegating tasks, monitoring performance and assisting with training and development.
- Monitor cash handling, tills, daily reconciliations and POS usage to ensure accuracy and security of Club assets.
- Assist with the planning and execution of Club events, promotions and operational initiatives to drive engagement and revenue.
- Monitor and report on key operational and financial performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Duty Manager or in a similar senior hospitality management role in a club, pub, hotel or comparable venue
- Strong customer service, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Proven people leadership with the ability to support and develop a diverse team
- Solid understanding of café/food service, bar, gaming and customer-facing operations
- Highly organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Flexible and reliable, available to work Friday to Tuesday
- Current NSW RSA and RCG, with food safety experience (Food Safety Supervisor preferred)
- Confident with cash handling, reconciliations, inventory control and WHS/compliance
