Formerly known as Swansea Workers Club, we are proudly rebranding and repositioning our Club to reflect our strong sporting, hospitality, and community focus. With a loyal membership base, quality facilities, and a clear vision for the future, this is a rare opportunity for an experienced Secretary Manager to lead a well-established Club through its next phase of growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Board, the Secretary Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Club. This is a visible, hands‑on role combining operational leadership with strategic input.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading all day‑to‑day club operations across hospitality, gaming, sport, and administration
- Providing strong people leadership across a team of approximately 29 staff
- Overseeing financial management including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost control
- Driving revenue growth across dining, functions, gaming, and events
- Ensuring an exceptional experience for members and guests
- Managing regulatory compliance including liquor & gaming, WHS, governance, and risk
- Supporting bowls, sporting, and social sub‑clubs
- Playing a key role in the Club’s rebrand and future strategic direction
- Working collaboratively with the Board to ensure long‑term sustainability
You are an experienced club, hospitality, or venue leader who enjoys being involved at both an operational and strategic level.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in club, hospitality, or venue management
- Strong financial and operational management capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a hands‑on environment
- A genuine passion for community-based clubs and member service
