Function Manager – Lake Macquarie Yacht Club
Spectacular waterfront location | Full-time role | Lead events across one of the most iconic clubs on the lake

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Function Manager to join the team at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club (LMYC), a vibrant venue on the picturesque shores of Lake Macquarie.
In this hands-on role, you’ll be the driving force behind all private and club events, leading every detail from the first enquiry through to flawless execution. From weddings and milestone celebrations to corporate meetings and sailing presentations, no two days are ever the same.

What you’ll do
  • Coordinate and manage all functions and events, planning, quoting, setup, briefing, and delivery
  • Be the main point of contact for clients, ensuring every detail exceeds expectations
  • Work closely with management, chefs, suppliers and staff to deliver exceptional service
  • Prepare and revise function sheets, quotes and related documentation
  • Maintain and update the LMYC website and social media channels with upcoming events
  • Assist in the promotion and marketing of club events and sponsorship opportunities
  • Liaise with sailing operations to enhance the guest experience
  • Follow up with client’s post-event to maintain strong relationships and gather feedback
Our ideal candidate
  • Previous experience in event management, hospitality, or sales (ideally in a functions role)
  • Proven ability to communicate confidently and professionally with a wide range of clients
  • Excellent organisational skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience drafting and editing promotional material or social media content
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a flair for problem-solving under pressure
  • Current driver’s licence
