Operations Manager

A well-established and community-focused Club in Sydney’s Canterbury-Bankstown region is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and help shape the guest experience. With a warm, loyal membership base and a commitment to continuous improvement, this venue offers the opportunity to make a real operational impact.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll lead the day-to-day running of all operational areas, from hospitality and gaming to service delivery, ensuring every experience exceeds expectations. You’ll drive efficiency, quality, and engagement across teams while helping to implement business goals and innovative service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee day-to-day venue operations across gaming, bar, and food services to ensure smooth, efficient, and customer-focused delivery.
  • Lead, coach, and engage teams to consistently deliver high-quality member and guest experiences.
  • Manage staffing operations, including rostering, training, performance management, and compliance with RSA, RSG, WHS, and internal policies.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, safety, and service culture across all areas of the Club.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Maintain and oversee all compliance registers including WHS, HR, Gaming, Liquor Licensing, and internal policies
  • Ensure the Club operates in a fully compliant, audit-ready environment at all times
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate operational and regulatory risks
  • Embed and align a strong culture of governance, accountability, and adherence to legislative requirements alongside the CEO
Technology & Systems Oversight
  • Provide leadership across IT systems, POS environments, gaming systems, and operational technologies
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting capability, and operational efficiency through technology
  • Liaise with external providers to ensure system performance, security, and reliability
Executive Support & Strategic Contribution
  • Provide high-level operational support to the CEO
  • Assist in preparation of reports and performance tracking as requested by the CEO
  • Contribute to operational and strategic planning, business improvement initiatives, and project delivery as required.

About You:
  • Proven leadership experience in a club, hospitality, or licensed venue environment.
  • Strong operational knowledge across gaming, bar, and F&B service areas.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Have full working rights and Australian Citizenship.
