Contract CatererRestaurant + New Café | Sawtell, NSW
Take the reins of a well‑known club venue and lead a fresh food transformation in the heart of Sawtell.
Sawtell Bowling & Recreation Club is seeking an experienced Contract Caterer to deliver a new dining direction for our members and guests. With a proud history and a loyal membership base of approximately 2,700 members, this is a rare opportunity to relaunch the Club’s food offering, introduce a new restaurant identity, and create an exciting new café concept.
This is a genuine blank‑canvas opportunity for the right operator with vision, capability and drive.
About the Club
Located in “Sunny Sawtell”, the Club is known for its friendly atmosphere and strong community presence, offering:
- Three natural bowling greens with an active social bowls culture
- A vibrant club environment including Sports Lounge, Keno and TAB
- An established restaurant currently operating lunch and dinner (Tuesday–Sunday)
- A loyal and engaged membership base plus regular visitors
For more than 20 years, the Club’s food offering has centred on Chinese cuisine. The community is now ready for something new.
This opportunity will suit a caterer who can:
- Reimagine and relaunch the restaurant with a fresh, contemporary concept and new name
- Design and operate a new café offering that complements the venue and Sawtell’s coastal dining precinct
- Deliver food services for members, guests and functions within a supportive club partnership model
Working within a proven club catering arrangement, you will be responsible for:
- Managing end‑to‑end food operations, including menu development, service delivery and quality control
- Employing and managing kitchen and front‑of‑house staff to suit your business model
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety, WHS and relevant legislation
- Building strong relationships with members and guests through consistent service and presentation
- Working collaboratively with Club management to deliver a food offering the community is excited about
This opportunity will suit an operator who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience running a restaurant and/or café (club or high‑volume venues preferred)
- A clear, market‑relevant concept aligned to Sawtell’s coastal dining scene
- Strong commercial and operational capability, including staffing, ordering and cost control
- A commitment to high standards of presentation, cleanliness and customer experience
- Compliance readiness, including food safety systems, insurance, and required licences
