Swansea Sports Club is entering an exciting new phase.
Formerly known as Swansea Workers Club, we are proudly evolving our food and beverage offering to align with our broader transformation — with a focus on quality, consistency, and delivering a strong, community-focused dining experience. With an established and well-supported kitchen operation, solid trade across multiple outlets, and a positive team culture already in place, this is an excellent opportunity for a Head Chef to take ownership and continue to build on a strong foundation.

The Role
Reporting to the Secretary Manager, the Head Chef is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the Club’s kitchen operations, including the Bistro, Café/bar, and functions.

This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to a chef who enjoys leading from the front, driving consistency, and fostering a strong team environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading day‑to‑day kitchen operations across Bistro, Café, and functions
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing a small, stable kitchen team
  • Overseeing menu planning, food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Driving operational efficiency, stock control, and cost management
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, WHS, and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the continued growth of the Club’s food and functions offering
The Operation
  • 120-seat Bistro and a 30-seat Café/bar, plus outdoor dining for approximately 40 guests
  • Bistro and Café operating Tuesday to Sunday
  • Community-focused club with strong repeat trade
  • Established kitchen team of 6, including a Sous Chef, across full-time, part-time, and casual staff
  • Positive, collaborative team culture with strong internal support
