Job Description

Functions Manager 
Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club

Located on the stunning Barrington Coast, Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club is a warm, welcoming hub known for its coastal charm, great food, live entertainment and strong community spirit. 

Reporting to the Venue Manager, the Functions Manager is responsible for managing sales and coordinating internal and external events at the Club. Flexibility with rostering to work weekends and public holidays when needed is required.
 
Key responsibilities:
Client relations:

  • Manage function enquiries, bookings, quotes and client communications with professionalism.
  • Build strong client relationships, drive event sales, and ensure smooth function delivery.
Event Coordination:
  • Coordinate and deliver a wide range of functions and events, ensuring all bookings, logistics and event details are accurately managed.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth event setup, delivery and post-event review.
Revenue Management:
  • Manage function budgets, payments, invoicing and event records to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain event schedules and prepare reports on bookings, revenue, customer feedback and operational performance
Compliance:
  • Ensure all events comply with RSA, WHS, food safety and Club policies, with a strong focus on patron safety and risk management.
  • Monitor event operations and escalate safety, compliance or operational concerns to management when required.
Leadership:
  • Lead by example in customer service, teamwork and professionalism while supporting and briefing staff involved in functions and events.• Contribute to continuous improvement through new ideas, efficient processes and knowledge of hospitality and event trends
Marketing:
  • Work with marketing to promote functions, events and packages by providing accurate event details and content.
  • Support Club promotions and event activities as needed, including setup and on-the-day assistance
About you 
  • Minimum five years’ experience in hospitality, registered club, venue, hotel, events or related operations, with supervisory or management responsibility
  • Current NSW RSA and RCG, or ability to obtain before commencing in the role
  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in event management software
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
