Job Description

Chief Executive Officer

Cronulla RSL Club

Cronulla RSL presents a rare opportunity to lead a well-established, community-focused club into its next phase of performance and growth.
Positioned in the heart of Cronulla and just moments from some of Sydney’s most iconic beaches, the Club enjoys a standout coastal setting and a deeply connected local membership base. It operates as more than just a traditional club - it is a vibrant lifestyle destination, offering a dynamic mix of dining, bars, entertainment and social spaces that attract both loyal members and a broader coastal audience.

Operating in one of the most competitive and fast-moving club markets in NSW, this role calls for a forward-thinking leader who can bring commercial acumen, strong stakeholder engagement and a clear strategic mindset to build on this momentum.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strong, visible leadership across all aspects of the business, with a clear focus on:
  • Driving and executing the Club’s strategic direction
  • Partnering closely with the Board to shape long-term priorities
  • Leading a capable executive and operational team
  • Ensuring strong governance, risk management and compliance frameworks
  • Strengthening the Club’s position within a highly competitive local market

This is not an operational “caretaker” role - it is a leadership position requiring clarity of thought, decisiveness and the ability to influence outcomes at both Board and community level.

About You
You are an experienced senior leader with a track record of delivering results in complex, stakeholder-driven environments.
You will bring:
  • Proven leadership capability across multi-functional teams
  • Strong strategic thinking, critical thinking, and execution capability
  • The ability to operate effectively in a Board-led governance environment
  • Highly developed communication skills, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in competitive or contested markets
  • Sound understanding of risk, compliance and governance obligations
Candidates from within and beyond the club industry are encouraged, provided you can demonstrate the leadership, commercial awareness and adaptability required for the role.

Why This Role
  • Lead a respected club at a key transition point
  • Work directly with an engaged and committed Board
  • Operate in a challenging, competitive market environment
  • Shape the next phase of the Club’s long-term strategy
