About the Role
Reporting to the Head of AML/CTF Risk & Compliance, the Senior Manager, AML/CTF Risk & Compliance plays a critical leadership role in designing, overseeing and continuously enhancing the Club’s AML/CTF framework.
Sitting in Line 2, this role provides independent oversight and challenge to AML/CTF Operations, ensuring the program effectively identifies, assesses and mitigates ML/TF/PF risks in a complex gaming environment.

The role also acts as a designated Senior Manager under the AML/CTF Program, with accountability for the design, maintenance and delegated approval of the ML/TF/PF Risk Assessment, AML/CTF Program and all material updates, in line with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design, implementation and approval of the AML/CTF Program, ensuring alignment with legislation and AUSTRAC expectations
  • Translate regulatory obligations and emerging financial crime risks into practical, risk-based frameworks and controls
  • Develop and embed financial crime typologies, risk indicators and detection frameworks tailored to a gaming environment
  • Enhance transaction monitoring frameworks, including scenario development, calibration and optimisation approaches
  • Lead second line assurance, including control testing, QA reviews and thematic risk assessments
  • Provide independent oversight and challenge to AML/CTF Operations, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, escalated, managed and reported
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on AML/CTF risk, control design and regulatory developments
  • Support strategic uplift initiatives, including technology implementation and program maturity improvements
  • Prepare Board and senior management reporting on risk exposure, control effectiveness and emerging threats
  • Lead AML/CTF training design to ensure a risk-based and role-specific compliance culture
  • Build and develop a high-performing AML/CTF Risk & Compliance team
  • Coordinate regulatory engagements, audits and remediation activities
About You

  • Proven experience designing and uplifting AML/CTF frameworks, risk assessments and governance structures
  • Strong working knowledge of AML/CTF legislation and AUSTRAC expectations
  • Experience leading regulatory change, remediation or program uplift initiatives
  • Strong assurance mindset, with experience testing control design and operating effectiveness
  • Ability to interpret complex regulation and translate it into practical, operationally effective frameworks
  • Highly developed analytical and written communication skills, including Board-level reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Law, Risk, Finance, Criminology or similar) preferred
  • Professional certifications (e.g. CAMS or equivalent) highly regarded
Why Join Wenty Leagues?
