Job Description

GENERAL MANAGER
A Rewarding Leadership Challenge on the NSW Mid North Coast

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to lead a successful, community-focused NSW registered club through an exciting period of growth and transformation.

Laurieton United Services Club (LUSC) operates across two significant sites - one at Laurieton, LUSC (the administrative hub), nestled at the base of North Brother Mountain in Dooragan National Park, and the other at Kew, Kew Country Club (KCC), an 18-hole golf course and bowling club some 9km west. Together, the venues encompass hospitality, dining, bars, entertainment, functions, gaming, mini golf, driving range and around thirty sub-clubs, serving a strong and active membership base with an important role in the Camden Haven community.

This is an opportunity for a senior executive seeking more than a management position: a chance to shape the future of an established organisation, work alongside a Board with a clear long-term vision, and leave a lasting legacy.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Board's vision is to increase revenue, strengthen the member experience, broaden the Club's offering and maximise its significant asset base — including longer-term property and development opportunities that create genuine potential for diversification and growth.

The General Manager will turn this vision into reality, working closely with the Board while ensuring strong operational, financial, regulatory and governance performance across both venues. The role calls for an experienced leader able to look beyond today's business and identify what the Club could become in the years ahead.

THE EXECUTIVE WE SEEK
We are seeking a strategic leader with senior management experience in an NSW registered club or a comparable operating environment. You will bring:
  • Proven leadership of a significant, multi-site operation, with a track record of improving performance, efficiency and service outcomes
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen — budgeting, cash flow, forecasting, capital expenditure and profitability improvement
  • Strategic planning, change leadership and business case assessment capability
  • Proven people leadership across diverse teams, with the ability to mentor, build accountability and drive consistent standards
  • Strong Board, governance, stakeholder and community relationship skills
  • Sound understanding of club industry regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience in property development, capital projects or asset optimisation regarded highly
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, or equivalent experience, highly regarded
Most importantly, you will be a leader who wants a rewarding challenge — commercially astute enough to recognise opportunity, confident enough to question conventional thinking, and prepared to make difficult decisions, take accountability and lead people through change.

A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE AND WORK
Just 30km south of Port Macquarie on the highly sought-after Mid North Coast, Laurieton is a picturesque coastal village offering an outstanding lifestyle - natural beauty, recreation and strong community connections, in one of the region's most attractive and fastest-growing areas.

This is an opportunity to lead a respected club with a strong local identity, working with a Board focused on financial strength, strategic growth and long-term value creation - not simply to manage, but to lead.

If you are energised by challenge, opportunity and the prospect of creating a legacy, this could be the next significant step in your career.
