Are you a passionate chef who thrives on leading from the front? Do you enjoy creating great food, developing teams, and making a genuine impact on a venue's dining experience?
West Tradies is seeking an experienced and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and help shape the future of our food offering. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll have significant input into menu development, kitchen strategy, team leadership, and the overall dining experience for our members and guests.

About the Role
As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, efficient service, and a positive team culture. You will lead a small team, drive menu innovation, manage costs, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and presentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing kitchen staff
- Creating and refining menus that showcase quality ingredients and seasonal produce
- Managing food preparation, service delivery and presentation standards
- Monitoring food costs, stock levels and supplier relationships
- Maintaining compliance with food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
- Driving a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
- Working closely with management to support the venue's operational goals
- Implementing efficient kitchen systems and procedures
To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced kitchen leader with a passion for quality food and team development.
You will bring:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership position
- Strong culinary skills across a variety of cuisines and cooking techniques
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
- Sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP and kitchen compliance requirements
- Experience in food costing, budgeting and inventory management
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certification, or willingness to obtain
