The Westport Club is more than a venue. Positioned on the banks of the stunning Hastings River, it is a cornerstone of the Port Macquarie community, bringing people together through exceptional hospitality, dining, entertainment, events and member experiences. The club features waterfront dining, a thriving events business, vibrant bars and cafés, and a strong commitment to community impact. It is also part of the wider Mingara Leisure Group, one of NSW’s most respected and progressive club groups.

As General Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of a highly regarded destination, leading strategy, people, operations and community engagement while delivering sustainable growth and exceptional member experiences. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and plays a key leadership role within the broader Mingara Leisure Group.

You will lead all aspects of the club's operations while ensuring the venue continues to evolve, innovate and strengthen its position as a destination of choice for members, guests and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a large and diverse team while fostering a positive, values-driven culture.
  • Develop and deliver strategic business plans that support long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, analysis and commercial decision-making.
  • Strengthen member loyalty and enhance the customer experience across all areas of the business.
  • Build strong relationships with community groups, stakeholders and local organisations.
  • Ensure compliance across all legislative, governance and operational requirements.
  • Growing a business within a highly competitive environment.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance products, services and experiences while maintaining market relevance and competitiveness.
  
About You

You are an experienced club or hospitality executive with a genuine passion for people, community and service excellence. You bring strong commercial acumen, outstanding leadership skills and a track record of delivering results through your teams.

To be successful, you will have:
  • Significant senior leadership experience within clubs, hospitality or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • The ability to work within and leverage a group organisation.
  • Demonstrated success leading, developing and engaging high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial management, business planning and strategic leadership capabilities.
  • A thorough understanding of club operations, governance and relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with high levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
  • Experience of managing a business through refurbishments and new systems implementation.
  • RSA, RCG and relevant licensing qualifications, or the ability to obtain and maintain them.
