Job Description

Executive Chef
Castle Hill Country Club | Norwest, Sydney

Create a Food Experience Members Are Proud to Call Their Own

Castle Hill Country Club is one of Sydney's premier private golf clubs, renowned for its championship golf course, loyal membership and commitment to delivering exceptional experiences both on and off the course. As the Club continues to invest in its future, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Executive Chef to help shape the next evolution of its food and beverage offering.

This is a unique opportunity to join a Club with genuine ambition. Members are passionate about their Club and have high expectations of the dining experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in elevating the food offering through creativity, consistency, leadership and innovation while ensuring every experience, from casual member dining to major events and golf day catering, reflects the quality and reputation of the Club.

About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead all kitchen operations and be responsible for food quality, menu development, team leadership, training and culinary innovation across the Club.

While the role includes premium member dining and a busy calendar of functions and events, success is about far more than producing great food. The Club is seeking a leader who can inspire a team, develop capability, create consistency and build a culture that encourages people to perform at their best.
The operation includes:
  • Member dining and clubhouse service
  • Corporate and private functions
  • Weddings and special events
  • Golf day and tournament catering
  • Halfway house and grab-and-go offerings
  • Member events and themed dining experiences
  • Future culinary initiatives designed to further elevate the Club experience

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence not only what is served, but how members experience food throughout the Club. New ideas, creative thinking and a genuine passion for hospitality will be welcomed and supported.

About You
You are likely already operating as an Executive Chef or an experienced Head Chef with a proven ability to lead people, develop teams and deliver consistently high standards.

Golf club experience will be highly regarded; however, candidates from premium hotels, luxury resorts, private clubs or elevated dining environments are also encouraged to apply. The key requirement is an understanding of how to create memorable hospitality experiences while building a high-performing team culture.

You will bring:
  • Executive Chef or senior Head Chef experience within a quality hospitality environment
  • A demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and develop kitchen teams
  • Experience delivering both premium dining experiences and high-quality event catering
  • Strong menu development and presentation skills
  • Commercial awareness and sound operational management capability
  • A collaborative leadership style focused on bringing people with you
  • Confidence engaging with members, guests and stakeholders as required
  • Creativity, curiosity and a desire to continuously improve the guest experience
  • The ability to establish systems and standards that deliver quality and consistency, even when you are not in the kitchen

Most importantly, you will understand that exceptional hospitality is built through people. You enjoy mentoring others, creating positive team cultures and taking pride in seeing your team succeed.

Why Join Castle Hill Country Club?
This role offers the rare combination of creative freedom, executive support and lifestyle balance.

You'll join a leadership team genuinely committed to elevating the food experience and investing in long-term success. You'll have the opportunity to introduce new ideas, collaborate on member events, contribute to the future direction of the Club and leave a lasting impact on an organisation with a proud history and exciting future.

In return, you'll enjoy:
  • $120,000 to $140,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
  • A stable and long-term leadership opportunity
  • Strong support from the Operations Manager and executive team
  • Genuine work-life balance compared with many Executive Chef roles
  • The opportunity to shape and elevate the culinary direction of a leading private golf club
  • A culture that values ideas, collaboration and continuous improvement
If you are an experienced culinary leader who can elevate standards, develop people and create food experiences that members genuinely look forward to, we would welcome your application.
